Thirty Verses From Holy Quran

These are the thirty verses (in some case more than one) from Holy Quran, one from each Para. I find them important, though provoking and somewhat more relevant in the global world we are living. These are often not paid too much attention. There is also an earlier similar post available here. The translation is mixture of ‘Clear Quran’, ‘The Study Quran’ and ‘The Messsage of the Quran’.

Say, “We believe in God, and in what was revealed to us; and in what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and their descendants; and in what was given to Moses and Jesus, and in what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction among any one of them, and unto Him we submit.” – The Cow (2:136)

We will certainly test you with some fear and hunger, and some loss of possessions and lives and crops. But give good news to the steadfast. – The Cow (2:155)

There shall be no compulsion in matters of faith. The right way has become distinct from the wrong way. Whoever renounces evil and believes in God has grasped the most trustworthy handle which does not break. God is all-hearing and all-knowing. – The Cow (2:256)

So their Lord answered them: “I will not let the work of any worker among you, male or female, be in vain. You are one of another. For those who emigrated, and were expelled from their homes, and were persecuted because of Me, and fought and were slain – I will remit for them their sins, and will admit them into Gardens beneath which rivers flow – a reward from God. With God is the ultimate reward.” – Family of Imran (3:195)

Allah has cursed him[Satan]. And he said, “I will take to myself my due share of Your servants. And I will mislead them, and I will entice them, and I will prompt them to slit the ears of cattle, and I will prompt them to alter the creation of Allah.” Whoever takes Satan as protector apart from Allah, has surely suffered a profound loss. – Women (4:118-19)

O People of the Book! Do not exaggerate in your religion, and do not say about God except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, is the Messenger of God and His Word that He conveyed to Mary and a Spirit from Him. So believe in God and His messengers, and do not say, “Three.” Refrain – it is better for you. Allah is only one God. Glory be to Him – that He should have a son. To Him belongs everything in the heavens and the earth, and God is a sufficient Protector. – Women (4:171)

Other messengers before you were rejected, but they endured rejection and persecution until Our help came to them. There can be no change to Allah’s words. News of the Messengers has already reached you. – Livestock (6:34)

Your Lord is the Self-Sufficient, the Possessor of Mercy. If He wills, He can do away with you, and substitute whomever He wills in your place, just as He produced you from the descendants of another people. – Livestock (6:133)

Had the people of the towns believed and turned righteous, We would have opened for them the blessings of the heaven and the earth; but they rejected the truth, so We seized them by what they were doing. Do the people of the towns feel secure that Our might will not come upon them by night, while they sleep? – The Elevations (7:96-97)

O you who believe! What is the matter with you, when it is said to you, “Mobilize in the cause of Allah,” you cling heavily to the earth? Are you content with the life of this world over the Hereafter? The enjoyment of the present life, compared to the Hereafter, is only a little. – The Spoils (8:38)

Others are held in suspense, awaiting God’s decree, as to whether He will punish them, or accept their repentance. God is Aware and Wise. – Repentance (9:106)

It is He who created the heavens and the earth in six days – and His Throne was upon the waters – in order to test you – which of you is best in conduct. And if you were to say, “You will be resurrected after death,” those who disbelieve would say, “This is nothing but plain witchcraft.” – Hud (11:7)

On the Day when the earth is changed into another earth as well be the heavens, and they will emerge before God, the One who holds absolute sway over all that exists. – Abraham (14:48)

When We intend for something to happen, We say to it, “Be,” and it becomes. – The Bee (16:40)

God increases in guidance those who accept guidance. And the things that endure – the righteous deeds – have the best reward with your Lord and the best outcome. – Mary (19:76)

We did not create the sky and the earth and whatsoever is between them for amusement. If We wanted amusement, We could have found it within Us, were We to do so. – The Prophets (21:16-17)

And We sent down water from the sky in due measure, and settled it in the ground. Behold, We are able to withdraw this. – The Believers (23:18)

Blessed is He who placed big stars in the sky and placed in it a lamp (sun), and an illuminating moon. – The Criterion (25:61)

Have the people supposed that they will be left alone to say, “We believe,” without being put to the test? We have tested those before them. God will surely know the truthful, and He will surely know the liars. – The Spider (29:2-3)

So devote yourself to the religion of monotheism – the natural instinct God has instilled in mankind. There is no altering the creation of God. This is the ever-true faith, but most people do not know. – The Byzantines (30:30)

Muslim men and Muslim women, believing men and believing women, obedient men and obedient women, truthful men and truthful women, patient men and patient women, humble men and humble women, charitable men and charitable women, fasting men and fasting women, men who guard their chastity and women who guard, men who remember God frequently and women who remember, God has prepared for them a pardon and an immense reward. The Confedrates (33:35)

The sun is not to outstrip the moon, nor is the night to outpace the day. Each glides in an orbit [in accordance with our laws]. Ya Sin (36:40)

If those who did wrong owned everything on earth, and the like of it besides, they would redeem themselves with it from the terrible punishment on the Day of Resurrection. But there will appear to them from God what they never anticipated. – The Throngs (39:47)

God’s alone is the dominion over the heavens and the earth. He creates whatever He wills. He bestows daughters to whomever He wills, and He bestows sons to whomever He wills. Or He combines them together, males and females; and He renders whomever He wills sterile. He is Knowledgeable and Capable.- Consultation (42:49-50)

Those are they upon whom the sentence is justified, among the communities of invisible beings [jinns] and humans that have passed away before their time. They are truly the losers. – The Sand Dunes (46:18)

And Our command is but once, like the twinkling of an eye. We have indeed destroyed the likes of you [in the past]. So is there anyone who would ponder? – The Moon (54:50-51)

On the Day when God will resurrect them altogether. They will swear to Him, as they swear to you, thinking that they have some standing. It is they who are the liars. – The Pleading (58:18)

It is He who made the earth manageable for you, so travel its regions, and eat of His provisions. To Him is the Resurgence. – Iron (67:15)

Let man consider his food. We pour down water in abundance. Then crack the soil open. And grow in it grains. And grapes and herbs. And olive-trees and date-palms. And luscious gardens. And fruits and vegetables. Enjoyment for you, and for your livestock. – He Frowned (80:24-32)
